Pontorson and Montlaux host summer cultural festivals in France

The town of Pontorson in Normandy (Manche department) organized a two‑day program on 26‑27 June 2025 featuring children’s knighting ceremonies, fortune‑telling, weaving exhibitions, free escape‑games, axe‑throwing, wooden‑game stations, troupe performances, equestrian shows, fire displays and combat demonstrations. Additional activities included storytelling, French‑language expression sessions and dance performances throughout the weekend.

In the nearby commune of Montlaux, a series of community events is scheduled for August 2026. The farm Montlauro will host wool‑and‑animal workshops, producer markets, theatrical performances by the Compagnie des Oliviers, singing workshops, a defibrillator‑use training session, and a night‑time farm gathering. Regular France‑service and bibliobus services will be suspended during part of August, and various cultural evenings, markets and heritage walks are planned through September.

Both communes aim to promote local culture, tourism and community participation through free or low‑cost activities.
