PONY League World Series returns to Washington, PA for 75th anniversary

The Pony League World Series will be staged at Lew Hays Pony Field in Washington, Pennsylvania from Aug. 7‑12, marking the organization’s 75th anniversary. Ten teams will compete, including four U.S. zone champions, the host Washington County team, and international representatives from the Caribbean, Europe, Mexico and Asia‑Pacific (Chinese Taipei).

The tournament is run by World Series Tournaments Inc., an all‑volunteer body supported by about 400 field directors and thousands of league volunteers. President Abe Key noted that volunteer numbers have fallen from roughly 600 pre‑COVID to about 400 today, yet the volunteer effort remains essential to fielding the event. Dick’s Sporting Goods is the presenting sponsor, and the series draws from a global Pony Baseball community of more than 500,000 players in over 50 countries.
