Pooh Shiesty's attorneys file motion over jail isolation
Attorneys for rapper Pooh Shiesty, born Lontrell Williams Jr., have filed an emergency motion requesting the court intervene regarding his conditions at the Rolling Plains Regional Detention Center in Haskell, Texas. The legal filing alleges that the rapper is being held in solitary confinement for approximately 23 hours per day despite having no significant disciplinary infractions or history of violent conduct at the facility.
According to the motion, the facility has provided only a “vague statement” claiming the isolation is for his own protection, without offering a documented security justification. His legal team reports that the confinement has negatively impacted his mental health, causing increased anxiety and difficulty sleeping.
The motion also challenges visitation restrictions. Lawyers claim the facility is limiting the rapper to two hours of visitation per month, which they argue falls below the Bureau of Prisons-guaranteed minimum of four hours. They are seeking to restore visitation time and end the restrictive housing unless a specific disciplinary or security reason is provided.
