Pooh Shiesty's Federal Trial Delayed to February 2027

A Dallas federal judge has pushed rapper Pooh Shiesty's (Lontrell Williams Jr.) trial date from July 6, 2026 to February 22, 2027, certifying the case as “complex.” The final pre‑trial conference is now set for February 17, 2027, with jury selection to follow the next week. Williams remains incarcerated at the Kaufman County jail while several co‑defendants, including Memphis rapper Big30 and Williams’s father, have been released on bond.

Williams’s defense team filed a bail motion after the delay, proposing strict conditions such as 24‑hour GPS monitoring, regular drug testing, travel restrictions and a prohibition on contact with co‑defendants or alleged victims. Attorney Kent Schafer said, “Lontrell needs to be out so he can fight for his freedom.” The judge has not yet ruled on the request.

The federal case alleges kidnapping and robbery of rap mogul Gucci Mane and two other victims during a January 2026 incident in a Dallas recording studio. U.S. Attorney Raybould described the alleged scheme as an armed takeover in which Williams produced an AK‑style pistol, forced a victim to sign a release at gunpoint and the group stole Rolex watches, jewelry and cash. He added, “And as described further in the complaint, within hours of leaving the Dallas studio, a number of the defendants were on social media displaying some of the items that appeared to be the jewelry that had been robbed from the victims.”
