Poonch: Explosion near Line of Control triggers security alert

A suspected IED explosion occurred near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Krishna Valley sector of Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir. The blast took place near the Satwal-Naki area during movement near the zero line. Reports indicate that the incident may have involved an attempted infiltration from the Pakistani side.

According to some reports, four individuals, including a top Lashkar-e-Taiba commander identified as Mohammad Faizan, were killed in the blast. The deceased were reportedly residents of the Hajira tehsil in Pakistan-administered Jammu and Kashmir. However, official confirmation regarding the deaths or injuries from Indian authorities is still pending.

In a separate development in the Mendhar sector, the Indian Army recovered and neutralized two rusted landmines in the Basoni area during track construction work. Security forces have heightened alertness and increased surveillance across the border areas to prevent further infiltration attempts.
