Poonch security forces dismantle terrorist hideout and seize arms

Joint security forces have dismantled a terrorist hideout in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, recovering a significant cache of weapons and explosives. The operation was conducted in the Draba area of the Surankote sector following specific intelligence.

The joint team, comprising the 16 National Rifles (RR), the Jammu and Kashmir Police Special Operations Group (SOG), and the 38th Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), seized several improvised explosive devices (IEDs), including pot-shaped, ball-shaped, and four smaller IEDs. Additionally, they recovered a Motorola wireless set and seven AK-47 bullets.

Security forces have also been conducting operations in nearby forested areas such as Savajian and Khanetar, as well as the Rajouri district, using drones, helicopters, and sniffer dogs to search for militants in natural caves and dense forests. Recent seizures in these regions have included machine gun cartridges, hand grenades, and AK-series rifles.
