Poços de Caldas' 18th Integrated Public Security Headquarters slated for September completion
The new headquarters for the 18th Integrated Public Security Region (RISP) in Poços de Caldas, Minas Gerais, is in its final construction phase, with officials expecting delivery in September. The complex will bring together state police, civil, penal, fire services and the municipal guard under one roof, aiming to improve operational integration, information sharing and response times for the city and surrounding municipalities.
Municipal authorities note that the project is being funded entirely with local resources, without state or external financial contributions, and that a definitive operational schedule has not yet been set. The lack of a formal timeline reflects ongoing structural adjustments and the need to finalize technical systems such as the Muralha Paulista monitoring platform, radar‑based license‑plate reading and facial‑recognition tools. Councilor Ricardo Sabino has requested clarification on the schedule, while secretaries Paulo Henrique Gonçalves Ribeiro and Rafael Tadeu Conde Maria oversee the works and the coordination of the various security agencies.
