Poços de Caldas council summons infrastructure chief over road‑work clarification

The Municipal Council of Poços de Caldas issued a formal summons to the city’s Secretary of Infrastructure and Public Works, requiring him to appear at a council meeting on 11 August. Councilor Tiago Braz cited a list of 27 issues concerning ongoing and planned road projects, including the revitalisation of João Pinheiro Avenue, Santo Antonio Avenue and a major junction serving several neighbourhoods. The council seeks details on timelines, funding sources, contractors, quality control and the impact on residents.

In a separate matter, the municipal government confirmed that the newly passed Municipal Law No. 10.090/2026, which mandates the creation of support points for motorcycle couriers, has not yet been implemented. Secretary of Government José Carlos Trinca Zanetti reported no sites have been identified, no private‑sector partnerships have been formalised, and no budget or schedule exists for the planned facilities, leaving the law inactive.
