Poços de Caldas councilor requests drainage system maintenance

In Poços de Caldas, Minas Gerais, City Councilor Álvaro Cagnani has requested information from the municipal government regarding the maintenance of the city's drainage systems. The request aims to prevent flooding and obstructions by ensuring the regular cleaning of underground galleries for the Serra and Caldas streams, as well as storm drains and manholes.

Cagnani noted reports of unpleasant odors coming from central drains and emphasized the need for preventive inspections to avoid issues during the rainy season. In response, the Municipal Secretariat of Infrastructure and Public Works stated that maintenance and inspections are conducted as needed or upon public request. The administration also noted that technical inspections are carried out to address odor concerns, involving the DMAE when necessary.
