Poços de Caldas hosts coffee festival and economic summits

Poços de Caldas is hosting several events focused on economic development and local traditions. The 2nd Coffee Festival, Culture, and Rural Tourism Festival will feature the 19th Coffee Quality Contest to recognize excellence in the region's volcanic area. The event includes a micro-lot auction, which previously saw bags exceeding R$ 9,000, and aims to strengthen the local coffee production chain.

In a related political development, Brazilian Vice President Geraldo Alckmin is scheduled to participate in the “Sul de Minas: Nossa Terra, Nosso Futuro” meeting. The agenda includes discussions on strengthening coffee cultivation and the potential economic and environmental impacts of rare earth element exploration in the Poços de Caldas Plateau.

Additionally, the municipal health department is continuing its “Vacimóvel” mobile vaccination project, which has already immunized 567 people to improve healthcare access. The social incubator is also participating in the coffee festivities by showcasing artisanal products made by local women to promote female entrepreneurship and regional income generation.
