Poços de Caldas hosts premiere of ‘Carta ao Meu Corpo’ documentary

The documentary ‘Carta ao Meu Corpo’ is set to premiere on September 9 at the Associação Maria Cinderela in Poços de Caldas, Brazil. Produced by Cia de Teatro Conscius Dementia, the film debuts on the eve of the National Day to Combat Fatphobia, observed on September 10.

Rather than a simple recording of a stage play, the documentary captures the impact of the original performance through footage of its circulation in public schools during 2024, highlights from the first edition of the Festival Corpo, Arte e Saberes, and interviews with company members. The premiere serves as the opening for the third edition of the festival.

The screening will be followed by a discussion moderated by journalist and author Jéssica Balbino. The choice of venue, the Maria Cinderela NGO, aligns with the film's themes, as the organization has worked for 11 years to support female autonomy and protection.
