Poços de Caldas launches second Trade Festival to boost economy
The second edition of the Poços de Caldas Trade Festival launched on September 10, 2026. Organized by the Commercial, Industrial, and Agricultural Association (ACIA), the initiative aims to establish two annual periods of commercial mobilization—one in March and one in September—to provide predictability for local businesses regarding promotions and stock planning.
During the festival's opening, Mayor Paulo Ney presented an administrative report to local business leaders. He addressed the municipality's difficult financial situation, noting that while the city is working to resolve pending issues, accounts remain under control. Ney also commented on the food voucher issues affecting municipal employees, stating the city had fulfilled its payments and was a victim of problems caused by the service provider.
Additionally, the Mayor discussed the potential economic impact of rare earth mineral exploration in the region and touched upon the upcoming October elections, emphasizing the need for local representation in state and federal government.
