Pop culture and Asian festivals scheduled for São Paulo region

Two major cultural festivals are scheduled to take place in the São Paulo region on September 26 and 27, 2026, focusing on pop culture and Asian traditions.

Animexgeek will hold its third edition at Espaço Inter in Guarulhos. The event features a wide range of geek culture, including anime, games, cosplay, and RPG. Notable Brazilian voice actors such as Wendel Bezerra (Goku, SpongeBob) and Felipe Grinnan (Leon S. Kennedy) are confirmed guests. The festival will also include an expanded Artist Alley for independent creators and various interactive gaming areas.

Simultaneously, the 1st Asian Gastronomy and Culture Festival will be held at the Memorial da América Latina in Barra Funda. This free event celebrates Korean and Japanese cultures, featuring approximately 80 food stalls offering dishes like Korean hot dogs, Tteokbokki, and Japanese Takoyaki. The program includes Taiko drumming, K-pop dance performances, and traditional Korean Hanbok experiences. The festival is pet-friendly and includes an animal adoption fair in partnership with the NGO Vira Lata Club.
