Popayán authorities offer rewards for information on local crimes
The Mayor's Office of Popayán, Colombia, has announced rewards of up to 20 million pesos for information leading to the identification and capture of individuals involved in two separate criminal incidents.
In the first case, a reward is offered for those responsible for an explosive attack against a National Police patrol in the Alfonso López neighborhood. The attack, which occurred on October 7, 2026, injured two officers and several civilians. The injured officers were treated at the Hospital Susana López de Valencia for limb injuries and fractures, though they are reported to be out of danger.
In a second incident, authorities are seeking four suspects involved in an armed robbery in the Catay sector. The robbery targeted a driver waiting at a traffic light and was captured on video. The footage shows suspects approaching the vehicle and threatening the driver with what appeared to be a firearm. The municipal administration has enabled a dedicated hotline to receive information regarding both cases.
