Pope emphasizes sharing and condemns greed in new address

Pope Leon warned that greed is a "disease of the soul" that blinds people and leaves the hungry without aid. He said that nothing is wasted when people share with others. Referring to the miracles of Jesus, the Pope noted that Jesus restored hearing to a deaf person, sight to a blind person, and multiplied loaves to feed the hungry, describing Christ as the "bread of life". He highlighted the Eucharist as a source of practical love, urging the faithful to give thanks and share meals with family and friends. The Pope also called for prayer to the Virgin Mary for growth in love so that no one lacks daily bread.
