Pope Francis sculpture installation begins in Sáenz Peña

Installation has begun on a monumental sculpture honoring Pope Francis in Presidencia Roque Sáenz Peña, Argentina. Located at the intersection of Avenida Papa Francisco and National Route 95, the monument serves as a new gateway to the thermal city.

The work is being executed by local sculptor Rubén Darío Marcoff. The structure is constructed entirely of cement using a direct carving technique, supported by internal iron structures and reinforced foundations. The project includes an upgraded urban environment with modern lighting and public spaces for residents and visitors.

Due to the scale of the work and the need to withstand heavy traffic and wind, the project involved complex engineering and specific infrastructure calculations. The installation process is expected to continue for two to three weeks, depending on weather conditions.
