Pope Leo XIV announces liturgical schedule and new exhortation

Pope Leo XIV has announced a series of upcoming liturgical events and travels. On October 14, he will preside over a Mass marking the 10th anniversary of the publication of the Apostolic Exhortation ‘Amoris laetitia’, which focuses on love within the family. To commemorate this milestone, the Pope has convened the chairpersons of the global Synod of Bishops in Rome to discuss the document's teachings.

Other scheduled activities include a Mass at the Basilica of Our Lady of Good Counsel in Genazzano and the inauguration of the academic year for Papal Universities on October 8. Additionally, the Pope is scheduled to undertake an apostolic journey to France from September 25 to 28, visiting Paris, Lourdes, and Metz, including a visit to the UNESCO headquarters.

In related ecclesiastical developments, the Pope's first exhortation, ‘Dilexi te’, is now available in print. The document serves as a continuation of the work of Pope Francis, emphasizing that love for the Lord is inseparable from love for the poor. The text calls on the faithful to adopt a lifestyle of concrete love rather than viewing charity as an optional addition to life.
