Pope Leo XIV appoints new Catholic mission leaders

Pope Leo XIV has announced several key appointments within the Catholic Church involving the Missionaries of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate (OMI).

Father Paweł Janusz Kubiak, a Polish Oblate who has served in Turkmenistan since 2023, has been appointed as the superior of the mission iuris in Turkmenistan. He succeeds Father Andrzej Madej, who had led the mission since its establishment in 1997.

Additionally, Father Mariusz Kasperski, OMI, has been appointed by the Pope as an auxiliary bishop for the Archdiocese of Toamasina in Madagascar.
