Pope Leo XIV delivers Angelus reflection at Castel Gandolfo

Pope Leo XIV led the Angelus prayer from the Liberty Square at the Pontifical Villa of Castel Gandolfo on August 30. During his reflection on the Gospel for the 22nd Sunday in Ordinary Time, the Pontiff addressed the themes of sincerity and docility in the life of faith.

Reflecting on the biblical account of Jesus revealing his upcoming Passion to his disciples, the Pope noted how the message of a suffering Messiah contrasted sharply with the disciples' expectations of a triumphant and powerful leader. He highlighted the reaction of Saint Peter, who expressed disagreement with Jesus' path, as a moment that invites believers to reflect on their own responses when God's ways differ from their expectations.

The Pope encouraged the faithful to maintain an uninterrupted dialogue with the Lord and to avoid judging divine actions, emphasizing the importance of accepting God's requests even when they exceed personal expectations.
