Pope Leo XIV calls for social justice and victim support

Pope Leo XIV has issued messages emphasizing the intersection of Christian faith with social, economic, and political responsibility. During a general audience in St. Peter's Square, the Pontiff addressed the necessity of economic development serving humanity and the environment, while condemning discrimination, exploitation, and unemployment.

He described war as a failure of humanity and urged political communities to focus on the common good and the healing of wounded nations. The Pope highlighted that politics aimed at addressing injustice offers hope for the future.

In a separate message to French bishops meeting in Lourdes, Leo XIV called for an integrated Christian educational project. He emphasized the importance of supporting victims of abuse and manipulation, urging the Church to transform communities into spaces of healing and comfort.
