Pope Leo XIV concludes Cameroon visit and prepares for trip to Metz

Pope Leo XIV has concluded an apostolic visit to Cameroon, traveling through Douala, Yaoundé, and Bamenda. During the trip, the Pope met with large crowds and visited the Saint Paul Catholic Hospital in Douala to attend to the vulnerable. In a closing message, the Pope expressed gratitude to the Cameroonian people for their reception, encouraging them to maintain their faith despite existing difficulties.

Following his time in Africa, the Pope is scheduled to visit Metz, France, on September 28. This visit will serve as the final stage of his apostolic journey in France. The itinerary in Metz includes two meetings at the Robert Schuman Congress Center, a public walk through the city streets, and a solemn Mass at Saint-Etienne Cathedral. Archbishop Philippe Ballot described the upcoming visit as a historic moment for the Moselle region, noting the high level of enthusiasm among local residents and youth.
