Pope Leo XIV greets Polish pilgrims in Rome
During a general audience at St. Peter's Square, Pope Leo XIV greeted pilgrims from the Siedlce and Łomża dioceses in Rome. The visit is part of the commemorations for the 30th anniversary of the beatification of the Martyrs of Podlasie from Pratulina.
The martyrs, including Wincenty Lewoniuk and twelve companions, were beatified by Pope John Paul II on October 6, 1996. To mark the anniversary, a Mass was held at the tomb of St. John Paul II in St. Peter's Basilica on October 6.
In his address, the Pope placed the pilgrims under the intercession of the Virgin Mary and Saint Faustina Kowalska, encouraging them to trust in God in their daily lives.
