Pope Leo XIV meets with Vatican Museums art patrons

Pope Leo XIV met with a delegation from the “Patrons of the Arts in the Vatican Museums” from Louisiana to discuss the preservation of humanity’s artistic and religious heritage.

During the audience, the Pope emphasized the importance of cultivating a spirit of contemplation in a modern era often dominated by technology, efficiency, and profit. He noted that beauty has the power to awaken noble desires within the human heart and invite souls toward the divine.

The Pope also referenced the legacy of Pope Paul VI, noting his role in the origins of the Patrons organization, and expressed gratitude for the group's decades of collaboration in maintaining the art within the Vatican Museums.
