Pope Leo XIV releases English version of ‘Freedom Under Grace’

The English-language version of Pope Leo XIV’s book, ‘Freedom Under Grace: Reflections on the Spiritual Tradition That Formed Me,’ was released on September 15. The book is available in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, and throughout the Commonwealth.

As the first Pope from the Order of Saint Augustine and the first American Pope, the text offers unique perspectives rooted in the legacy of St. Augustine. It compiles addresses, homilies, and personal writings from the Pope’s tenure as Prior General of the Order of St. Augustine. The work addresses various global themes, including the aftermath of 9/11, emerging political ideologies, and the Church’s stance on poverty and human rights.

In the US, the book is published by Image Books, an imprint of Penguin Random House. In the UK and Australia, it is released via the Enlighten imprint of Penguin Random House UK. An audiobook edition will feature opening segments read by Stephen Colbert and narration by Scott Brick.
