Pope Leo XIV to visit Argentina in November

Pope Leo XIV is scheduled to visit Argentina from November 8 to 11, marking only the third papal visit to the country. The itinerary includes a visit to the Pequeño Cottolengo Don Orione in Claypole on November 9 to meet with people with disabilities, and a central religious celebration in Luján on November 11.

In Luján, a massive logistical operation is being prepared to accommodate an estimated one to 1.5 million faithful. The Pope is expected to celebrate Holy Mass at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, November 11, at an altar in Plaza Belgrano, located in front of the Basilica of Our Lady of Luján. The security plan involves approximately 11,000 Buenos Aires provincial police officers, alongside the National Gendarmerie and other federal forces.

Local authorities in Luján, including Mayor Leonardo Boto, have stated that despite reports of the Pope canceling a separate trip to Assisi for medical reasons, there has been no official notification regarding any changes to the South American itinerary.
