Pope Leo XIV is preparing for an apostolic visit to France from September 25 to September 28, 2026. The trip, themed ‘so that the world may have life’, will include stops in Paris, Lourdes, and Metz. Public interest is exceptionally high; registration for the youth vigil at the Stade de France, scheduled for September 25, reached capacity within the first hour of opening. Additionally, over 200,000 people have already registered for the major mass to be held at the Place de la Concorde and the Champs-Élysées on September 26.

During the visit, the Pope is expected to meet with survivors of clergy sexual abuse. The itinerary also includes a visit to the UNESCO headquarters.

In a separate pastoral engagement, the Pope will visit the Republic of San Marino on August 22, 2026, before traveling to Rimini, Italy, to participate in the 47th Meeting of Communion and Liberation.
