Pope Leo XIV's Early Writings to Be Released in English This September

A collection of the future Pope Leo XIV’s early homilies and addresses, titled *Freedom Under Grace: Reflections on the Spiritual Tradition That Formed Me*, will be published in English in September 2026. The book, which gathers previously unpublished works from 2001‑2013 when Robert Prevost was prior general of the Order of Saint Augustine, is being issued by Penguin Random House Christian in the United States and will serve as the launch title for the Cornerstone spirituality imprint of Penguin’s UK division.

The writings were originally released in Italian by the Vatican Publishing House and cover themes such as education, leadership, diversity and the role of the church in the world. Campbell Wharton, senior vice‑president and publisher of Penguin Random House Christian, said the collection offers “an urgent message of love and service to address the challenges of the world today.” The book is positioned for Catholics as well as a broader audience of Christian and spiritual seekers.
