The Pope noted the recent beatification of Peter da Corpa and four companions in Georgia, USA, who were killed for their faith in 1597. He also addressed humanitarian efforts in Oleshky, expressing hope that such cooperation would foster dialogue and peace.

Additionally, the Pope commended the Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, Senegal, noting they represent the first Olympic event held on the African continent. He described the games as a sign of hope that promotes Olympic values and cultural exchange among global youth.
