Pope meets Bad Bunny in Madrid

The Vatican confirmed that the Pope (referred to as Leon XIV) briefly met Puerto Rican reggaeton star Bad Bunny during the pop star's concert series in Madrid. The encounter was short, involved the Pope’s entourage and members of Bad Bunny’s family, and no photographs or video footage were released. Pope Francis joked that many young people would likely choose to attend the concert, though some would come to see the Pope, noting the meeting says something about youth preferences.

Bad Bunny’s Madrid shows attracted around 600,000 fans across 12 concerts, while the Pope was seen by more than two million worshippers at various events in the city. Both figures have previously commented on migrant issues and have faced criticism from U.S. political leaders, highlighting an unexpected cultural crossover between a religious leader and a global music icon.
