Pope Tawadros II hails New Alamein City as model of Egypt’s urban growth
His Holiness Pope Tawadros II visited New Alamein City and met with Minister of Housing and Urban Communities Randa Al‑Manshawi. He praised the city’s achievements, describing it as a comprehensive model of a smart, sustainable urban centre that reflects Egypt’s renaissance. The Pope noted that Egyptian youth abroad are organized by the Coptic Church to visit the city under the “Back to Roots” programme, adding that the scale of construction and services rivals those of advanced nations. He said the city “reflects the efforts to build a better future for generations.”
During the same visit the Pope delivered his weekly sermon, continuing his series of “spiritual laws for life.” He presented the “law of being a true witness for Christ,” citing Acts 1:8 – “you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you… to be my witnesses…” and outlined steps such as filling with the Holy Spirit, becoming a picture of Christ, love, forgiveness and repentance.
