Pope Tawadros II inaugurates Kom Maria project in Minya

Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, has inaugurated the first phase of the Kom Maria project and the Abou Hans Monastery in Mallawi, Minya Governorate. This development is part of a larger initiative to enhance the Holy Family Trail, a route of significant religious and historical importance in Egypt.

The inauguration coincided with the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the Mallawi Diocese, marking 50 years since its modern establishment in 1976. The project aims to highlight the historical value of these sites and promote Minya as a destination for religious and cultural tourism.

During the visit, Minya Governor Emad Kedwany emphasized the role of the Egyptian Church as a partner in national development, specifically noting the Church's contributions to the healthcare sector through several major hospitals. The state continues to invest in the Holy Family Trail to foster tourism and economic investment in the region.
