Pope Tawadros II visits Beni Suef during Upper Egypt tour

Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, concluded a pastoral tour of Upper Egypt with a visit to the Beni Suef Governorate. The visit included a stop at the Church of the Virgin Mary and the Martyr Abu Sefein and the Forty-Nine Martyrs in Beba.

During the visit, large crowds of residents gathered along the roads between Al-Fashn and Beba to welcome the Pope. The event saw significant participation from local Muslim residents who joined the crowds to greet him. The visit also served to celebrate the silver jubilee of the ordination of Bishop Stephanous, Bishop of Beba, Al-Fashn, and Samasta.

A national meeting was held in Beni Suef attended by Governor Abdullah Abdel Aziz, security officials, academic leaders, and various religious figures from both Islamic and Christian backgrounds, highlighting the communal reception of the visit.
