Popeyes expands UK and Ireland presence with new restaurant openings

The US-based fried chicken chain Popeyes is expanding its footprint in the UK and Ireland with two new restaurant openings scheduled for Friday, September 11.

In Colchester, UK, the chain will open at 38 High Street within the new Minerva House development. This site, a former Marks & Spencer building, is part of a regeneration project led by developer City and Country. The new location is expected to create 45 jobs.

In Ireland, Popeyes will launch its fourth national venue at Dundrum Town in Dublin. This opening is projected to create approximately 60 new jobs. The expansion follows previous openings in Blanchardstown Centre, Liffey Valley Shopping Centre, and Laois, with a drive-thru in Kildare expected to open soon.

Tom Crowley, CEO of Popeyes UK and Ireland, noted the brand's momentum and excitement regarding the new locations. To celebrate the launches, both venues are offering promotional prizes, including free chicken sandwiches for a year for the first few customers in line.
