Popeyes opens first restaurant in Timișoara

Popeyes is opening its first restaurant in Timișoara, located within the Shopping City Timișoara commercial complex. This launch marks the fourth city in Romania to receive a new location in 2026, following recent openings in Suceava, Cluj-Napoca, and Târgu Mureș.

According to Jakub Aleksandrowicz, Marketing Director for Popeyes Central and Eastern Europe, the move is a key step in an ambitious expansion plan to establish a presence in every major Romanian city. The company currently operates 23 restaurants across the country, including locations in Bucharest, Iași, Constanța, Cluj, Pitești, Craiova, Buzău, Ploiești, Brașov, Sibiu, Oradea, Suceava, and Târgu Mureș.

Founded in New Orleans in 1972, the fast-food chain specializes in Louisiana-style Cajun cuisine, featuring chicken that is marinated for 12 hours.
