Popeyes to open first Timișoara restaurant next week

Popeyes is set to open its first restaurant in Timișoara next week, marking the fourth city in Romania where the fast-food chain is expanding in 2026. This follows recent openings in Suceava, Cluj-Napoca, and Târgu Mureș.

The expansion is part of a broader strategic plan to establish a presence in every major Romanian city. Jakub Aleksandrowicz, Marketing Director for Popeyes Central and Eastern Europe, stated that the Timișoara opening is an essential step in the company's 2026 expansion goals.

Since launching in Romania four years ago, Popeyes has grown to 23 locations across the country, including sites in Bucharest, Iași, Constanța, Cluj, Pitești, Craiova, Buzău, Ploiești, Brașov, Sibiu, Oradea, Suceava, and Târgu Mureș. Globally, the brand operates approximately 4,800 restaurants.
