Popodara: Mechanic fatally stabbed in Labé prefecture

A 42-year-old mechanic, Boubacar Siddy Diallo, was fatally stabbed in Popodara, located in the Labé prefecture, during the night of August 21, 2026. His body was discovered the following morning near a local drinking establishment.

Witness reports suggest that loud arguments and noises were heard throughout the night in the vicinity of the site. Preliminary information indicates a fight may have preceded the discovery of the victim, who sustained a stab wound to the abdomen.

Local authorities, including the mayor of Popodara, Abdoulaye Diallo, and the sub-prefect, have visited the scene. The victim's body has been transported to the Labé regional hospital morgue pending an autopsy. An investigation has been launched to identify and apprehend the suspects.
