Popular, Inc. sees shifts in institutional ownership as investors adjust stakes

Manufacturers Life Insurance Company reduced its holding in Popular, Inc. by 2.9%, selling 10,621 shares to bring its stake to 0.55% (about $47.7 million) after the first‑quarter filing. The filing also listed smaller purchases by Acumen Wealth Advisors, UBS Asset Management Americas, Parallel Advisors, Advisory Services Network and Atlas Capital Advisors.

Quantinno Capital Management LP more than doubled its position, buying 136,984 shares to own 0.42% of Popular (roughly $36.6 million). Other investors that increased holdings included Allspring Global Investments, Crossmark Global Holdings, UBS Group AG, Artemis Investment Management, and Geode Capital Management. Popular’s market capitalization stands at about $11.3 billion, with the stock trading near $175 per share after reporting earnings that beat analysts’ expectations.

These changes reflect a broader rebalancing of institutional positions in the bank during the quarter.
