Porąbka Dam undergoes 4.5 million PLN renovation
Two major renovation projects totaling approximately 4.5 million PLN have been completed at the Porąbka Dam in Międzybrodzie Bialskie. These investments aim to enhance the stability and safety of the 90-year-old structure, which is part of the Soła cascade.
The first phase involved sealing the dam's foundation through approximately 880 linear meters of core drilling. Using cement-bentonite grouts, workers filled 34 holes to reduce water filtration through the substrate and strengthen the construction.
The second phase consisted of specialized diving operations conducted at the bottom outlets. Officials, including Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Przemysław Koperski, noted that systematic technical work and financial investment are essential for maintaining such aging infrastructure. A third stage of similar works is planned for the future.
