Porcia after‑school program for vulnerable primary pupils continues into 2026‑27

The free after‑school service run by the association Anche Noi a Cavallo will resume in the 2026‑2027 school year at the equestrian rehabilitation centre in Porcia, Italy. Backed by Fondazione Friuli and coordinated with the Don Milani primary school and the municipal social‑service office, the programme supports about fifteen children identified by teachers for educational, social or family fragility. Roughly 80 % of the participants are of African origin, with additional children from Eastern Europe and one Italian pupil.

Activities take place every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and combine homework assistance with monthly animal‑assisted sessions involving horses, donkeys, dogs, cats and rabbits. Coordinator Vallì Bomben stresses the value of continuity, noting that some children have been followed since their first year of primary school. The initiative, now in its fourth consecutive year, is overseen by association president Francesco Longo and vice‑president Giorgio Beltrame, who thanked Fondazione Friuli for its ongoing financial support.
