Poreč launches interpretive walking tour based on local folk song

The “La mula de Parenzo Tour” is an interpretive walking project in Poreč that uses the legendary song “La mula de Parenzo” to explore the city’s history, traditions, and musical heritage. Organized by the Zavičajni muzej Poreštine-Museo del territorio parentino and the Poreč Tourist Board, the project has attracted numerous visitors during the summer of 2026, with two additional sessions scheduled before the end of the season.

Inspired by the folk song that serves as a symbol for Poreč and the northern Adriatic, the tour guides participants through the customs, fishing traditions, and daily life of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Actors serve as guides, performing historical narratives to connect heritage with theater and tourism. The route begins at the North Tower of Peškera and passes through Marafor Square, the city waterfront, and the Fisherman’s Market, concluding at the La mula de Parenzo interpretive center.
