Poreč provides funding for developmental disability associations

The City of Poreč-Parenzo has secured continued financial support for associations working with children with developmental disabilities and individuals with intellectual disabilities in the Poreč and Istria County regions. Mayor Loris Peršurić signed funding agreements with the Avanti BC Association for helping children and parents with developmental disabilities and the Association of Parents of Persons with Combined Psychophysical Developmental Disabilities of Istria County.

These associations secured the funds through a competitive tender for civil society programs focused on culture, health, and social care. The Avanti BC Association specifically implements educational and rehabilitative projects using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) methods. The funding aims to address rising diagnosis rates in Istria, support professional staff in rehabilitation institutions, provide counseling for parents, and promote the social integration of individuals with developmental and communicative-social disorders.
