Pork industry forums focus on growth and sanitary challenges in Venezuela and Dominican Republic

The pork industry in Venezuela and the Dominican Republic is focusing on growth and sanitary resilience through upcoming specialized forums.

In Venezuela, pork consumption has risen to 5 kg per capita, up from 1 kg during previous economic crises. The second International Porcine Congress of Venezuela (CIPVE) is scheduled for November 2026 in Valencia. The event aims to address nutritional efficiency, which accounts for approximately 70% of operating costs, and the implementation of new genetic lines to improve productivity and meat quality.

In the Dominican Republic, the II Porcine Forum 2026 will be held in Moca to address critical challenges in the domestic sector. Key topics include biosecurity, productivity, and the management of African Swine Fever (ASF). The forum will feature international experts from Brazil and Spain to discuss sanitary resilience and the global sanitary map in relation to ASF.
