Porpora Marcasciano cancels U.S. trip after appearing on right-wing blacklist

Italian activist and Bologna city councilor Porpora Marcasciano has canceled a planned trip to San Francisco after discovering her name appeared on a blacklist compiled by U.S. right-wing groups. The database, known as ‘TrumpBlogs’ and created by data scientist Jennica Pounds, reportedly maps out individuals and collectives identified as anti-fascist or pro-Palestinian.

This development follows the recent shutdown of Autistici/Inventati, a long-standing digital activism infrastructure. The collective decided to cease its services to protect its members from potential legal, financial, or physical retaliation by state agencies and autocratic actors. The closure highlights a growing tension between profit-driven digital networks and independent activist spaces, as well as the increasing use of online surveillance and profiling to target political dissent.
