Porr selected to complete Nová Palmovka for EUSPA headquarters

Prague city officials have selected the company Porr to complete the construction of the Nová Palmovka building, which will serve as the headquarters for the European Union Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA). Porr’s bid is valued at 2.6 billion CZK excluding VAT.

The tender process has faced significant delays since 2023 due to repeated interventions by the Office for the Protection of Competition (ÚOHS). The authority previously overturned the exclusion of Porr from the competition, a decision later confirmed by the office's chairman. Following these rulings, the evaluation committee requested additional documentation from Porr and recommended them as the winner.

The project involves repurposing a building structure that has remained unfinished since construction was halted in 2014. Originally intended to house a district town hall and shopping center, the site was transferred to the Prague City Hall in 2021. The completion of the site is essential for EUSPA to relocate from its current insufficient facilities in Holešovice.
