Opel launches all-electric Corsa GSE performance hatchback
Opel has launched the Corsa GSE, a high-performance all-electric version of its popular supermini. Positioned as a spiritual successor to the brand’s historic GSi and OPC models, the GSE (Grand Sport Electric) features a front-mounted electric motor delivering 281 hp (207 kW) and 345 Nm of torque.
Key performance specifications include an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds and a top speed of 180 km/h. The vehicle is equipped with a 54 kWh lithium-ion battery (51 kWh usable), offering a WLTP range of up to 374 km. To manage the increased power and weight, Opel has implemented a mechanical Torsen limited-slip differential, a lowered sport suspension, and high-performance Alcon four-piston brakes.
Design elements distinguishing the GSE include 18-inch wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, widened wheel arches, and a sportier interior featuring Alcantara seats and yellow accents. The model is expected to start at approximately 39,900 euros in European markets.
