Porsche Cayenne sets new Nürburgring SUV lap record

Porsche has set a new Nürburgring Nordschleife lap record for SUVs with the 2025 Cayenne Turbo GT. Driven by factory driver Lars Kern, the vehicle completed the circuit in 7:38.925, which is nearly five seconds faster than the previous record held by the first-generation Cayenne Turbo GT.

Key technical updates contributing to the record include recalibrated active anti-roll bars, updated Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) software, a refined aerodynamic package, and the use of Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires. The model features a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 producing 631 horsepower and 626 lb-ft of torque, alongside approximately 30 pounds of weight reduction.

Additionally, the Porsche Cayenne lineup is expanding into electric mobility with the Cayenne S Electric. Early assessments of the electric model suggest the S variant offers a balanced performance profile within the new electric drivetrain options.
