Porsche Cayenne tops September luxury car sales in China

The Porsche Cayenne became the top-selling luxury vehicle in the million-yuan price segment for September, with 1,433 units sold, surpassing the Range Rover, which recorded 906 units. In the cumulative sales from January to September, the Cayenne leads with 9,568 units, narrowly ahead of the Range Rover's 9,501 units.

Other notable performers in the monthly rankings include the Porsche Panamera in third place with 810 units. Mercedes-Benz held the highest brand presence in the top 20 list, accounting for seven models, including the Maybach S-Class and Mercedes S-Class. The Yangwang U8L was the only Chinese brand to appear on the monthly list, ranking 13th.

The sales surge follows reports of significant promotions for the Porsche Cayenne, including a limited-time discount of 300,000 yuan on certain models to clear inventory ahead of new updates. The 2026 Cayenne lineup features a wide price range and includes new electric versions with a CLTC range of up to 673km.
