Porsche celebrates 50 years of the Turbo legacy and electric performance

The Porsche 'Turbo' designation has evolved from a mechanical description of a supercharged engine into a brand identity representing high-performance engineering. Originally introduced in the 1970s with the 911 Turbo (930) to bring racing technology from the track to the road, the name is now applied to electric models such as the Taycan Turbo and Macan Turbo, even in the absence of a physical turbocharger.

In the current electric lineup, the Taycan Turbo GT offers extreme customization through the Manthey racing kit. This performance package, which includes aerodynamic upgrades, suspension tuning, and a specialized 'attack mode' capable of approaching 1,000 horsepower, is designed to optimize lap times at the Nürburgring. The kit alone costs over 110,000 euros, bringing the total price of a fully equipped Taycan to more than 360,000 euros.
