Porsche holds Sportscar Together Day in Tokyo
Porsche AG held its global ‘Sportscar Together Day’ event at the Porsche Experience Center Tokyo, marking the 5th anniversary of the facility. The event drew over 1,100 enthusiasts and featured historical vehicle displays, driving experiences, and technical sessions.
Frank Mörsch, Vice President of Porsche AG and head of the 911 and 718 model lines, participated in a special talk session. During an interview, Mörsch addressed the future of the 911 series, emphasizing the importance of balancing technological evolution with the preservation of the model’s core DNA.
Mörsch confirmed that manual transmissions remain vital to the 911 identity and stated, ‘This is not the last manual specification 911.’ He noted that while hybrid technologies like the T-Hybrid are being integrated into certain models, maintaining non-hybrid options will be necessary to continue offering manual gearboxes for enthusiasts.
