Porsche launches PCCM Plus infotainment retrofit for 2009–2016 models

Porsche has launched a new generation of its Porsche Classic Communication Management Plus (PCCM Plus) infotainment retrofit system. The upgrade is designed for more than 300,000 vehicles, specifically targeting 911, Boxster, and Cayman models manufactured between 2009 and 2016.

The system is offered in two distinct versions to accommodate different model generations: one for the 2009–2013 models (997.2 and 987.2) and another for the 2012–2016 models (991.1 and 981). The hardware features a seven-inch high-resolution touchscreen that integrates with the vehicle's existing electronic architecture, allowing for continued use of multifunction steering wheel controls and instrument cluster displays for navigation and media information.

Key technological upgrades include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, 4G LTE connectivity through a nano SIM slot for over-the-air map updates, and satellite imagery navigation. Additional features include a ‘Scenic Roads’ mode for finding winding routes, real-time monitoring of oil temperature and pressure, and visual parking sensor graphics for compatible Boxster and Cayman models. The system also supports DAB, FM, and AM radio, and allows for YouTube playback while the vehicle is stationary in certain regions.
